ATMS is an intelligent transportation management
system that monitors and controls traffic from
either a centralized location or a portable remote
workstation. ATMS has multiple functions, which can
include monitoring traffic flow at intersections by
video surveillance, monitoring and controlling the
timing of traffic signals, and notifying emergency
personnel of accidents on the roadways. CBB has
implemented both ACTRA and icons ATMS to enhance
mobility on roadways by incorporating the latest
technological advancements. An important aspect of
ATMS is its ability to provide notification to the
public of congestion, detours and signal
malfunctions, so that they may avoid troubled areas,
thereby reducing the risk of accidents, and adding
