On Friday, October 31, 2014, CBB was in attendance as the Missouri Department of Transportation, St. Charles County, and local municipalities celebrated the opening of the new Route 364/Page Phase 3 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. As a member of the Page Constructors team, CBB has been actively involved and contributed to many parts of this project located in St. Charles County, Missouri.
The $72 Million design-build project includes the construction of 9 miles of new 4-lane freeway from Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Saint Peters to I-64 in Lake Saint Louis; completing an interstate to interstate connection from I-270 in Saint Louis County to I-64 in Saint Charles County. The project is anticipated to be complete in November of 2014.
CBB participated in the development of conceptual interchange layouts and developed a traffic model that was used to evaluate the project’s operational performance. All interchanges were evaluated with HCM methodologies and the system was evaluated with VISSIM software. The model assisted the contractor team and MoDOT in selecting interchange concepts for each location and optimizing design details for each interchange. CBB was responsible for the project’s Access Justification Report (AJR) at the interchange of Route 364 with I-64.
One of CBB’s primary roles was to serve as the chief designer for all traffic signals and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) on the project. In this role CBB developed design plans and coordinated design efforts between the contractor team, MoDOT, St. Charles County, and the various cities along the corridor. As a part of those efforts CBB is responsible for retiming and programming traffic signals on all crossing arterials during construction was well as the final project configuration.
