For our Feature Friday, we are going to take you to O’Fallon, MO. Located west of St. Louis, this is the largest municipality in St. Charles County (according to the 2010 census). O’Fallon is also located near two critical connections within the St. Louis region: Interstate 70 and Interstate 64. With good access within the area, as well as a commitment to community, and parks and recreation, O’Fallon is continually recognized by Money Magazine in the ‘Best 100 Places to Live’ (2006, 2008, 2010).
CBB was excited to join the city in an effort to create an even better connected community. The three-phased plan looks at the north-south corridor that extends from intersection of Highway M and Route 79 down to I-64 and Highway K interchange. In addition to visual observations of the current conditions, the team is working with stakeholders and gathering public input via surveys and open houses.
The City and the consultant team on the project, held a downtown visioning workshop on February 19th. This meeting involved interactive activities and presentation on material of the downtown survey, and downtown planning elements. Currently you can take the Highway K and M surveys online.
There is also the opportunity for input at the Highway K and M open houses. Highway K is planned from 5:30 – 8pm on Wednesday, April 15 at the Renaud Spirit Center in O’Fallon. The Highway M is planned for Thursday, April 16 from 4 – 7pm at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre.
